Two girls creating a joyful life while caring for our flock and the land under our care.
This is a working ranch, it is our goal to make it as safe and comfortable as possible but a working ranch has some things we’d like you to be aware of before your stay.
Yes, there are bugs, flies and at times ‘natural’ features. We do our very best to control these things naturally, but flies happen.
Please do not go into any of the animal pens unless accompanied by one of us. No, our animals are not inherently dangerous, but they are not used to new people and might get a bit funny with you.
With this being a working ranch please be mindful of what’s around you, we try to keep everything safe but mindfulness is essential. We are also directly off a public road, please be mindful of vehicles should you be walking to visit the livestock or stroll the prairie.
Since we are right along the Pecatonica River and have surrounding pasture and wetlands please expect mosquitos and knats and plan accordingly.
Our precious ranch-kitties will try and tell you they’re welcome to sleep in the Airstream. For guests with allergies, we ask you leave the kitties outside.
We have one shared guest bathroom, we ask you keep this in mind when using our facilities. An extra outdoor shower is available for those feeling adventurous. Towels are provided. Please use ONLY the castile soap and natural shower bar for your outdoor showering pleasure. It is not on our septic and we want to keep our wetlands natural and beautiful for years to come.
The vintage Airstream is equipped with modern conveniences, sheets, coffee, cookware, fridge, wood stove, etc. Campsites are furnished with a charcoal grill, picnic table and a fire ring.
There is no air-conditioning in the Airstream, we have fans available to keep you comfortable.
We sell ranch goods, firewood and charcoal in our farm-store, cash or Venmo only
You are welcome to purchase meat from us and we will have it available to you during your stay.
